Greetings, O’Fallon Community!
Spring is in the air, and with it comes a burst of excitement from your Parks and Recreation team! As we dive into 2024, we’re thrilled to unveil a slew of new developments and programs aimed at enhancing your park experience.
Firstly, if you’ve strolled through Community Park recently, you may have noticed the buzz of construction. We’re hard at work installing a brand-new walking trail encircling the park perimeter. This trail is designed with inclusivity in mind, boasting ADA accessibility and ample space for both walkers and cyclists to enjoy simultaneously.
But the upgrades don’t stop there! Head over to Family Sports Park, and you’ll spot additional construction near the Becky Henry Pavilion. We’re erecting outdoor fitness equipment on the southwest corner of the park, catering to fitness enthusiasts of all stripes. Whether you’re a walker, jogger, biker, or simply seeking a workout in the great outdoors, these amenities are sure to impress. Keep your eyes peeled – they’ll be ready for use in just a few weeks!
Exciting events and programs are also on the horizon. Mark your calendars for April 1st, as swim lesson registration kicks off for the final summer at Memorial Pool. With offerings ranging from Parent ‘n’ Tot to One-on-One lessons, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to secure your spot early, as these lessons tend to fill up fast! Registration is available online at ofallonparksandrec.com or in person at the Katy Cavins Community Center during our office hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
For those planning aquatic adventures, rentals for our facilities begin on May 1st. Whether you’re interested in a private rental at Memorial Pool or a splashy affair at the Family Sports Park Splash Pad, we’ve got you covered. From exclusive private rentals to group gatherings, our facilities are perfect for any occasion. Plus, our pavilions are up for grabs for outdoor events through October 31st, offering versatile spaces for gatherings of all sizes.
The summer season is heating up, so don’t delay – book your rentals and events now to secure your slice of outdoor fun!
Warm regards,
O’Fallon Parks & Recreation
