Blue and Gold Color Guard

This is a color guard program for junior high students (grades 6th-8th) that will consist of learning how to dance, spin flag, swing flag and rifle. There will be a couple performance opportunities and students will be learning the basics and knowledge that carries over to the OTHS Color Guard program! If you like to perform, learn new things, and make new friends, this is the activity for you! Practices will take place in the cafeteria at Millburn.

Registration is required. There will be an additional $50 fee later on to cover the cost of equipment.

Instructors for the program are Emily Navarro and Ashley Kues. Read below to learn a little bit about them!

Emily Navarro- This is Emily’s 5th year teaching the OTHS Color Guard and her 4th year as the director of the program. She has had over a decade of color guard and dance experience with some of the best award winning programs in the activity, and is excited to get a color guard program started that can feed into the high school program!

Ashley Kues- This is Ashley 4th year teaching the OTHS Color Guard and her first season as Assistant Director of the program. She also is a paraprofessional at the smiley campus. In her decade of spinning she has won multiple awards and placed in the upper echelon at competitions. She is super excited to teach a younger generation of spinners.
