O’Fallon Parks & Recreation is gearing up for an exciting fall season with a diverse array of events and programs designed to engage and entertain the community. The youth sports programs are a cornerstone of the season, with the Fall Soccer League already in full swing and the Fall Baseball/Softball Leagues kicking off soon. For those looking ahead, registration is open for the Youth Basketball Leagues. These leagues cater to different age groups, with the kindergarten through 2nd grade league running from mid-October to December, and the 3rd through 8th grade league taking place from January to mid-March. Additionally, the Mighty Ball Basketball program for children aged four and under will run from mid-January through February, providing a fun and foundational basketball experience for younger kids.
In addition to sports, O’Fallon Parks & Recreation has planned a variety of special events to ensure there’s something for everyone.
The popular Touch-a-Truck event will be held on September 7th from 10 AM to 12 PM at Carriel Junior High. This free event is perfect for families, offering kids the unique opportunity to explore and interact with a variety of vehicles and machinery. Following this, the highly anticipated Fall Fest will take place on October 19th from 4 PM to 8 PM at Rock Springs Rotary Park. Fall Fest is a community favorite, featuring activities such as hay wagon rides, a prairie maze, games with prizes, live music around bonfires, and free s’mores while supplies last.
Movie enthusiasts can look forward to Family Movie Nights in the Park, a series of free events that combine outdoor fun with cinematic entertainment. On September 13th, “Wonka” will be screened, with games and activities starting at 6 PM and the movie at dusk. Another movie night is scheduled for October 11th, featuring “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.” Activities for this event will begin at 5:30 PM, with the movie starting at dusk. These evenings offer a fantastic way for families to enjoy the cooler weather and spend quality time together under the stars.
