Hi O’Fallon Residents,
It’s hard to believe that summer is nearly over, and the kids will be going back to school! We hope your summer was filled with fun and laughter. I’m sure your summer was just as buys as ours was at Parks & Rec. We’ve got just a few more events to share with everyone as summer winds down and our fall programs kick into gear.
Our Fall Soccer league has just started, and our Fall Baseball/Softball Leagues are about to start! They are full, but if you want to get a jump on our next sports offering, sign up today for our youth basketball leagues. We offer kindergarten – 2nd grade, that runs from mid-October through December. We offer 3rd – 8th grade leagues that run from January thru mid-March. If you’ve got little ones who are at least 4 years old, sign up for our Mighty Ball Basketball program that runs mid-January through February!
If sports aren’t your thing, we’ve got loads of special events this fall. First up is Touch-a-Truck in Community Park on Saturday, September 9th from 10am – 12pm. This is a FREE event that is fun for the whole family. Come on out to the park and check out some supersized equipment. Kids will get to climb on vehicles and ask questions to the operators.
Another special event that will be here before we know it is our Fall Fest at Rock Springs Rotary Park. Join us on Saturday, October 21st from 4pm – 8pm for one of our favorite events of the year. We will have a wide variety of activities that are fun for the whole family. There will be hay wagon rides around the park. There will be a prairie maze to find your way out of. There will be games with prizes from 4pm – 6pm. Starting at 6pm there will be live music around the bonfires. S’mores will be available for free while supplies last. Don’t miss out on this community favorite. We hope to see you there!
We’ve got more family friendly events just around the corner. Our Family Movie Nights in the Park will continue. On Friday, September 22nd we are showing “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.” Games and activities start at 6pm, and the movie will start at dusk. Then on Friday, October 13th we are airing “Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” Games and activities will start at 5:30pm for this movie, and the movie will start at dusk. These are fun, FREE events for the whole family to enjoy. The O’Fallon Public Library, and Cornerstone Church will be there getting in on the fun activities and blow ups.
