Hello O’Fallon!
Did you know that July is Parks and Recreation month? That’s right! Since 1985, people in the United States have celebrated Parks and Recreation month in July to promote building strong, vibrant, and resilient communities through the power of parks and recreation and to recognize more than 160,000 full-time parks and recreation professionals – along with hundreds of thousands of part-time and seasonal workers and volunteers – that maintain our country’s local, state, and community parks. The theme for 2023 is – “Where Community Grows” – which celebrates the vital role parks and recreation professionals play in bringing people together, providing essential services, and fostering the growth of our communities.
The City of O’Fallon has ten unique parks to choose from and these public spaces provide recreational and green spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy. Most of our parks include a variety of amenities such as playgrounds, sports fields, walking trails, and gardens. Our parks play an important role in promoting physical and mental well-being and serve as a gathering place for the community.
Be sure to join the O’Fallon Parks and Recreation staff in celebrating this month! Here are a few things you can join us in by registering online at ofallonparksandrec.com:

Come out to O’Fallon Memorial Pool for our free swim day! From 6p-7p on July 18th, O’Fallon and Shiloh residents swim for free! Every year, as a part of parks and recreation month, we have a free hour of swim to show our appreciation to the residents of O’Fallon and Shiloh. We wouldn’t be the parks and recreation department that we are without the help of our community, so this is our thank you to you!
Our first ‘Movie in the Park’ will be August 4th! We will be showing Super Pets on Community Park Field 4. Be sure to bring the family out to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! All movies will start around dusk once it gets dark enough to be able to see the screen. There will games and activities available for everyone starting at 6:30PM. The O’Fallon Public Library, Cornerstone Church, and Texas Roadhouse are also getting in on the fun with activity stations. We are excited to get the movies back up and running this year and can’t wait to see all the families this year!
Fall O&S Soccer starts up in the beginning of August. Spots are going fast, so be sure to get your kiddos enrolled now! There are different age groups that go by grade, so get your spot before they fill up.
Have a great month,
Your friends at O’Fallon Parks & Recreation
