Hey O’Fallon,
Spring has sprung and we’ve got loads of events right around the corner! We’ve got activities and programs for the entire family starting in the coming weeks. Make sure you get your spots, as many of our programs are filling quicker than ever before.
First up, everyone’s favorite farmer’s market is back in just a few short weeks! The Vine Street Market at O’Fallon Station will kick off its 2023 season on Saturday, May 13th from 8am – noon. Back for this season is the popular “Pop Club” for kids, live music, and even more vendors! Did you know that the market focuses on local food sourced within 100 miles of O’Fallon? You can find produce, meats, dairy, wine, baked goods, sweet treats, and artisan crafts at each market. This year you’ll be able to visit our website and see which vendors will be in attendance and where they will be each week of the market! The site is constantly updated with new vendors and information. Be sure to visit www.ofallonparksnadrec.com/vine-street-market for more details.
Don’t forget, we’ve got one more Micro Market on Saturday, April 29th from 9am – noon. Micro Markets are smaller versions of the Vine Street Market. Check out our Facebook page for the lineup of vendors.
Even though spring has just started it’s never too early to start thinking about summer! We are now accepting Memorial Pool rentals for the 2023 season. Our swim lessons are also open for registration. We offer a variety of swim lessons from one-on-one, to group lessons, and parent ‘n’ tot lessons. Splash Pad rentals will start being accepted May 1st! The anticipated opening date for the Splash Pad is Saturday, May 27th.
As always, we are hiring for a variety of seasonal positions within our department. We need slow-pitch softball umpires. Our slow pitch leagues are only on Tuesday nights, so the commitment is only one night per week. We are also in need of more umpires for our youth leagues. Our youth leagues play Monday – Thursday nights, and Saturdays. Our youth leagues are a great place to get your feet wet officiating, and help kids learn the rules of the game. We are looking for umpires of all ages for your youth leagues and offer training if you have never umpired before. Feel free to reach out to [email protected] or call (618) 624-0139 to get more information.
Lastly, did you know we’ve gone digital? We are no longer printing our program brochures. We are only releasing them digitally. If you are interested in getting on our mailing list, make sure you visit www.ofallonparksandrec.com and scroll down. At the bottom of the page, you can subscribe to our weekly newsletter. This is how you’ll also sign up to receive a brochure throughout the year.
